My new CAD lights bio pellet reactor came in this past week. I had to swop everything in the skimmer and live rock/macro algae compartments so I would have enough room for the reactor and skimmer in the same compartment. I had to also change all the lines and lighting for the algae scrubber so it would work in live rock compartment as well. So far the reactor is working OK, but I think I did not soak the pellets in RO water long enough. I might resoak them tomorrow if they don't start moving around better. But even as it is right now, this is a lot better than my last reactor

The most consistent thing about keeping a reef tank is that there's always changes to make!
Hope the reactor works out the way you hope.

This past week I had noticed my nitrate test kit had expired a few months back. I really need to check that more often. When I tested the nitrates with the new test kit, I found they rose to just over 2ppm when the expired test kit should them to be less than 1ppm. Lesson learned for me. This would explain the little bits of hair algae in the tank that I had to clean out last weekend. I guess I will add a few more biopellets to the reactor and feed a little less

The anemone is really growing over the past few months. He is now about 24 inches when he is all stretched out

Looking good, Cliff. What's the thing stuck to the glass on the left?

Can we have a few closer photos of each section of the tank? There's so much detail, I'd love to see it all.

    Thanks Firefly

The thing to the left is a small frag rack. I just use it to grow out the coral frags I get/make from time to time. The fish and crabs just seam to knock over the smaller pcs of coral so I have to grow them out a little bit before placing them on the rocks

I will tray and get some sectional pictures in the next few days.

Your tank looks pretty neat Cliff, inspiring even. Congratulations!

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
