I just noticed this morning they are still working on that.
If they're moving a main line, that usually means that it can't be used, so there's one less feed into the area. In weather like you're having, the load that the line usually carries is transferred to other feeds. The outages prevent\limit loads so other infrastructure isn't compromised. That's how cascading blackouts are prevented.
When in doubt, do a water change.

They were supposed to be finished all that work this past week. Maybe the back-up / secondary lines just can't handle the extra load from the warn weather ?

Hopefully they will be done soon
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

That's a pretty good guess Cliff. Just keep your fingers crossed for completion before winter sets in. I'm guessing the demand for electricity during the winter far out weighs the summer demand even with a bit of a hot spell.

Have you had problems with outages during the winter in the past?

Never had problems like this in the winter either. Even in the cold spell were it hits -40 and everyone is plugging in their vehicles

SaskPower is probably using the summer period for reconstruction and re-networking. I sincerely hope you never loose your power at -40 c. Hang in there.

Power outages are always rough, as a previous power company employee they're probably beefing up their system, only problem is that during the re-beefing (if you will lol) the rest of the system becomes more vulnerable... the work may not even be on your part of the circuit but since they have to shift load from the part they're working on your lines may just be overloaded until the work is done... hopefully that's all it is! Power outages are tough
55g Long --> After 18mo of doing well the tank crashed during moving. Most likely cause: Flatworm Die-off... won't start another until after moving... Likely not until late 2013

20g Long --> currently concoting a build plan

Check out the journal to follow my 20g SW tank

Is the sailfin gone yet? Are you replacing it with anything?

I'm trying a QT time out right now. If that will not work, I have a new home lined up for him already. If I move him, I will not replace him with a another fish. I'm already very heavy stocked for fish in this set-up.

Does this mean we'll be upgrading to a bigger tank or getting another tank?

Lets get him to get that mantis tank before we try to bully him into getting another new tank ;-)
Do as I say. Not as I do.
