I like the SPS corals Cliff. Great pictures.

I have been looking at them but so far I've shied away from them.

Do you add calcium for yours?

The Royal Gramma has always been a species I've really liked. I haven't come across one yet that looked healthy enough to introduce. I had one back in the '80's which hooked me big time.
Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..

Please remember; every keystroke has a consequence.

I had a little bit of set-back today. I had some fish in my QT tank for the past 4 or 5 weeks now that I wanted to add to my 180. I noticed they had ick last weekend but I think I noticed it too late. After 6 days of treatment I lost almost all of the fish I had in there. Only 2 little dart fish are left, but they are still eating well so there a very good chance they will pull through just fine

While I am very up-set about the whole situation, I am very glad this happened in my QT tank and not in my display tank. As this is the third time I had fish with ick in my QT tank, I think I will try to find another SW LFS to get any future fish.

I’m so glad that I took all the extra effort to QT all fish. I would hate to think of what could have happened if I added these fish directly to my 180.

so sorry about your losses, Cliff. And wow. for them to be in QT for 4 - 5 weeks and THEN develop ich, pretty much shows that a 2 - 3 week QT period is not nearly enough.
    Hope the survivors pull through

Is ich more harmful to SW fish than FW? You've had some really terrible luck with these. Sorry to hear this Cliff.

    What species did you lose?

I was just wondering the same thing as I was reading the update...and to think how hard it is to wait that amount of time and still lose fish to ich, so sorry...
