  1. Default Help: columbian tetra aggression with each other?

    0 Not allowed!
    Hi
After seeing so many positive comments about them here on the forum, I recently added 6 Colombian tetra to my 30 gal. First several days they schooled fairly tightly but have now relaxed a bit.
Today one of the tetras is listing sideways so I watched the tank for a while and it seems that all six of them of them have suddenly become very aggressive toward each other - darting and nipping - so I suspect the 1 tetra got beat up a bit. They are not bothering my other fish.
Any suggestions on dialing down the aggression? If I added a couple more would that maybe spread out the bullying? Or is there a chance this will settle down?
    thanks!

It is not aggression, it is just their normal behavior. They are just playing, sometimes though, too rough. I would suggest upping the number of your school to spread out the "chasing" better.

Thanks Paul not Dave :o) I'm glad to hear that. They are fun little guys to watch, for certain. I'll be heading for my LFS tomorrow and will add 2 or 3 more. They are so pretty in the tank as well.

I've just starting noticing the same thing with my neon tetras. A few of them will chase and nip the others. I wasn't sure if that was normal or what. I hadn't expected to see that with them.
