lost another fish
I have lost 3 fish in a week. One in the 5.5g and 2 in the 10g. My water is fine though, no ammonia or anything. I just looked at the bottle of water conditioner I have been using.....It only gets rid of chlorine and chloramines.....not metals......wonder if that is the problem...
Guess I have to go shopping and get better water conditioner. What I have been using is Wardley Essentials Chlor Out. What brand of water conditioner does everyone else use? I used to use Tetra Aqua AquaSafe water conditioner, but ran out and got this other stuff pretty cheap. Guess I should have paid more attention to what the bottle said.....dangit.10 gal tropical tank (mainly snails w/7 fish), 5 rats, 4 parakeets, 1 senegal parrot, 2 degus, 1 snake, 1 blue tongue skink, 3 mice, 1 rabbit, 1 ferret, 5 cats, 1 dog

I am one of the lucky ones in that I don't need to use water conditioners (well water that is clean).
Wardley's is usually cheap stuff and for a reason. I see a lot of people using Seachem products, but there are many, many others. I have a bottle of Nova something-or-other that I tried to eBay once. Want it?8 tanks running now:

I just found a bottle of NovAqua water conditioner that I forgot I had. brand new too, lol. It says it works for chlorine and copper, plus helps replace the fishes slime coat. doesnt say anything about chloramines though. is it still good to use?

That sounds like what I have here. I think that is a fairly popular product.

I have been having the same problem in two weeks I lost 5 Fish.
First I lost a 3 spotted Gold Gourami in my 29g. I then lost no fish for 1 week. A week later I come home from work and found a Rasbora dead in one of my 20g tanks. No other fish dead in anyother tanks. Later that night a Hatchet dies in my 10g. Next day I buy another Silver Hatchet to replace it and the next morning 2 Silver Hatchets are dead.
I saw no signs of Ick and my Test were on the money. I don't know why it happened.
I use Genisis Clorine drops.

Sounds like when you introduced the new hatchet you also introduced a new disease that got to your fish.

I agree with Kuli. Sounds like an introduction of disease.
