female crowntail?
honestly is this a female betta? she has an ovipositor and everything, i'm just in doubt because she acts like a boy and has such beautiful coloration...
5 gallon planted tank - 1 female betta and one HUGE mystery snail
60 gallon planted community 3 marble lyretail mollies, 3 creamsicle mollies, 9 lampeye tetras, 5 bloodfin tetras, 4 black skirt tetras, 1 rubberlipped pleco, 3 peppered corys, 3 bumblebee catfish, 3 emerald green corydoras, 2 gold danios, and 2 giant danios

That's a female betta. I've got one with simliar features and coloration.
When in doubt, do a water change.

Yes that is what a female crown tail will look like. If it has the egg spot it's a female.
Females can be just as aggressive as males especially if only kept with one or two other females. I keep my girls all together and they disperse the grief among themselves.

^_^ very pretty girl. I've been hoping to find a female CT here, but I've never seen one. Female DT, yes, but CT, no.

good, i'm glad to confirm she's a female... perhaps the presence of the frogs makes her feisty? she is really loving the tank so far... i'm sure it's quite a change from the blue water and poking hands of petsmart customers.

scottishfish - yes, the first is her without flash and the second one is her with flash. she's got a weird hue about her... i've never seen one that bright before in the store, i was kind of shocked when i saw her
