Lost a Kuhli :(
So I got my 4 new Kuhli's to add to my school of 6 yesterday. I was shocked when I saw them how TINY they were! About 4 cm long. The Kuhlis I have at home are 8-9cm and fat. I was a little concerned about the size difference, that they might be bullied by the much bigger kuhlis, but when I introduced them them seemed to join up with the adults right away.
However this morning I noticed one of my new baby Kuhlis lying on it's side out in the open gasping. I monitored it for a few hours before deciding it would be for the best to put it out of its misery. It didn't even attempt to escape when I put the net near it. Poor wee guy. :(
Hoping that just happened to be a weak individual and that I don't lose my other 3 wee darlings. :(

In my experience khulis are very sociable at all ages, so little babies should mix well with the adults. Sometimes the stress of moving tanks can be too much for baby fish.
Sorry for your Loss
My therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .

Oh no! I hope the others do well. With it being so soon after adding them to the tank I bet it was just stress on an already weak fish.

yay but sad face too!
Loaches are the best, ive had a few occcasions where ive added smaller guys to an established group but have never had any issues. Similar to you ive had two guys almost just give up and die but it wasnt around the time of any new introductions. Maybe just a bit too much stress for the little guy :(
