I used to have my tank planted like a jungle and still never saw them. I'm hoping they'll be braver when they get bigger, otherwise I'll give them to someone at my local Club.

Is this tank "done" or do you plan on adding anything else? :) Brilliant driftwood btw.

I've been messing with it again this evening...so it's never really "done". I'll put some photos up shortly. I've planted some hair grass I ripped out of the nano tank to see if that'll take (although the lights aren't good enough for that really).

I also have a spare piece of wood that I want shot of now though. It's a trunk that has anubias grown into the top so it looks like a miniature tree. Doesn't really fit in the big tank so I think I'll sell it if I can find someone who wants it.

Ok so here's a snap of the new substrate look. I'm not sure I really prefer it...but I'm sure my plants will.

Here's three of the sterbai cories.

I planted some grass as a "test patch" to see how it does. This stuff was in my nano cube but was in a shady spot so wasn't really doing much. I pulled it out and stuck it in here after a trim.

My Cryptocoryne Parva should enjoy the new substrate. It did well in the old stuff but suffered from blackened (rotting?) roots beyond a certain length so never really grew much.

The barbs want feeding...they kept getting in the way of every shot!

Here's another crypto. Think this one is a Beckettii. It's always done quite well.

It even had a baby a few months ago

My sword...a bit weak looking with light leaves that melt frequently...but it's not died yet. I'm careful not to bury it too deep and keep the roots fed.

My Alternanthera reineckii pink is on its last legs though. It seems to be suffering some sort of deficiency. Any ideas? Perhaps phosphates might help, not sure.

I've taken some cuttings and replanted them to stop it being so long and leggy.

The Hygrophila doesn't seem to have many complaints.

Your tank is awesome!!! Very nice job.

And the vals are doing very well. I found loads of runners which I've replanted.

And here's the silly "tree" I made. It doesn't really fit in the tank so I want to sell it.

    Another sterbai

If you have not done so already, you should enter your tank in the tank of the month contest.
