Flourish Fertilizer questions

Perhaps this should be in another forum (lighting, but since we are talking about it here...my bulb reads Aqueon 8,000k Full Spectrum Daylight 15W 120V T8 18"

Somewhere I read that I should have at least 2W per gallon...that would mean I would nearly have to quadruple my wattage, am I correct? How do I do that? I have a single bulb currently. I am thinking that I would buy another ballast to hold an extra bulb? Is the following something that would be good for me?

If I am only going 2W per gallon, that won't be incredibly bright, right...isn't 2WPG the minimum I should have?

Hey to answer your previous question the aquadose is just a container with an airhose and an IV clamp that controls the drip. So basically I put in enough fertilizer for a few days and let it slowly drip into the fish tank.

Your onto the right track with a t-5 fixture but as others mentioned you want the bulbs to be as close to 6500k as possible as these should provide you with the most useful energy for plants.

If anyone out there has a 26 gal Aqueon Bow front and has replaced their stock light system, I'd love to hear what you've done!

I have a aqueon bow front 16 gallon. Just replaced my light with this:

I'm no expert about lighting....it's so confusing. I knew the one bulb won't do....it was really hard to find a reasonable $ fixture with two bulbs. My plants have been doing better with it. It's got two T5 6,700k bulbs. Maybe that will be a starting point for you.

Hey all, thank you so much for your advice, it is greatly appreciated. Lighting is very confusing to me. Watts/volts/6500k vs.10,000k Huh? More research tonight!
