  1. Default 2 bacteria blooms during cycle?

While doing a cycle with fish I got a bacteria bloom within the first week. I'm on week 4 now and I just got another. Is that normal. I did add a filter that has been running exactly a week now. Could adding an extra filter late in the cycle cause another bacteria bloom? It did only last for about 2 hours then cleared up.

You will get those blooms sometimes if too much cleaning due to removal of bacteria. Not a big problem but you just want to be careful that spikes in ammonia do not follow. VERY easy to set back a new cycle.

I'm so close to returning all these guys and just starting over or something. Here are my readings after 4 days of double 50-70% changes:

Are these damn NitrItes ever going to go down?!?!?!

    Currently doing another 70% change.
