I didn't impulse buy but I was so. close.

I have a 75g that's finishing up cycling. It's empty, for now. I plan to stock

    1 angel
    2 bolivian rams
    2 yellow kribs
    8-10 cory cats

and until now a school of colombian tetras.

and then I saw the bloodfin tetras at the store today.

Will a school of bloodfins do ok in this tank set-up? I was reading that they get nippy, but only if not kept in a school. I plan to get about 15 or so.

As long as they are large/adult specimens they should do fine. Small ones may get eaten by your angel! :) You could probably keep a couple more than you would have with the columbians because they're smaller. Like 20+.

Glass bloodfins are even cooler. ;)

Haha, I don't know about your stocking, but I've been to the pet store as well while waiting on my tank to cycle. I have literally been every... day.... Yeah. It's getting a little sad.

Mandy, I've been following your thread about your issues with cycling. And crossing my fingers it doesn't happen to me. My Ites have been stuck off the charts for a few days too...I've been at it now a little over 3 weeks and I'm getting so antsy. But looks like you're getting close!

So the bloodfins get to 2 inches. I keep feeling like that's a hit or miss size. Neons are 1.5 inches and they'll make dinner for the angels. Many others I looked at were 2.5 inches and they were fine to keep with angels.

I read though that bloodfins have really cool schooling behavior....

Or should I just go back to the colombian tetras...
