Thank you wijnands. I don't currently dose anything. The plants are in flourite, and I use fert tabs. I DO plan on getting Excel and some sort of CO2. I will make sure not to get that brand.
firefly-- I actually just upgraded my lights from T8 8 watts, to T12 40watts. I don't think they're are exactly ideal, but the have to be better than the 8watts.130g: 7 Angelfish, 1 Bolivian, 17 Neon Tetras, 14 Serpae Tetras, 9 Kuhli Loaches, 1 Otocinslus, ? Ghost Shrimp

Flourish Excel has the bad rep for liquid CO2 + vals cause it has a chemical called Glu(somethingsomethignsomething). Its what gives it its powers to kill BBA.
Its Phillip, not Origami.

So here are the pics I promised!
But first, a video!
This is showing how mean my Gourami is being... I want to reach in there and bop him on the head. The good news is that the Gourami seems less and less interested. The particular picking session in the video lasted about 15 minutes. The sessions following this were each shorter, and followed by longer pauses. I'm hoping this is some kind of pecking order thing that will subside. I didn't expect this kind of agression from Akio.
Here we have Violet! Whom I'm fairly sure is a girl. Lol. There are some pretty clear reflective scales in her spot, and that is what I'm going by.
Being bugged by Akio. One thing I do enjoy is seeing Akio swim up ever so slowly, and reach out with his feeler thingies to poke Violet.130g: 7 Angelfish, 1 Bolivian, 17 Neon Tetras, 14 Serpae Tetras, 9 Kuhli Loaches, 1 Otocinslus, ? Ghost Shrimp

Excellent day for you!! I am so happy you have the GBR you wanted!
That loach is adorable. Hmm....maybe when I get a big tank in a big house I will consider a sand bottom. :)
I love those feeler things on gouramis too...they are like cat whiskers.10 gallon with a veiltail betta, 7 neons, 1 ADF, and one neat moss ball.
