Whats the difference between a male and female turquoise gouramis? I know color is a big tell, what about shape? How do you know the difference between a female turquoise and a powder blue female?

Gourami's are fairly easy to tell between female and male. The females dorsal fin is more rounded as the males is more pointed. I'll find pics and show you. Be back in a sec.

cool, never new you could tell the sex of a gourami that easily. i know how to tell male and female livebearers apart, but thats it. is their any easy way for sexing tetras and barbs or any other kinds of fish?

They have to be adult to tell, but usually the females are more rounded and slightly heavier bodied than the males. Colors can be slightly less in females, the fins can be smaller . . .it's fairly easy to tell when you look which is which.

Certainly, as they are the same species, just domestically bred color variations.
