What happens when you don't do RESEARCH
Google is now an invaluable source for us all, 5 minutes can save you a lot of hassle and at the least give you a basic understanding of anything.
I found this video when I was surfing youtube admiring some tanks!!
This is what happens with lack of research!!!!!!

Judging by his recent vid viewing... I suspect scotty wants an Oscar :-P

Agreed Kiltmeister,
I will have to give this 'Google' that you speak of a shot, IF it works I just might start suggesting it..

how did the oscar get so big if it lived its entire life in that tank? or maybe that person just got the fish like that, because no oscar would have survived growing to that size in such conditions

Who knows, there's a lot of ways this sad situation could have occurred.

I love YouTube, it let's me see awesome videos of fish and other things, but I sometimes hate the videos on it. There are no shortage of stupid people who keep oscars in tiny tanks or feed bettas to oscars or have cats fall in their tanks or even extremely over stocked tanks like here . It's just sad and pathetic.

Cats are little fiends that will find new and exciting ways to test your patience. Like suddenly deciding out of the blue as a 4 yr old adult cat to take up toilet paper unrolling.

maybe they just moved the oscar into that tank to take a video of it? It looks really healthy, I too am having trouble believing that it grew up in that tank.
As someone who really really wants an oscar but needs to finish a basement and set up a 180 gallon tank for it first, it's like a gut punch every time I see someone keeping one in a tiny tank.300 gallon mega tank: build in progress
75 gallon community tank: tetras, danios, corys, platies, otos, pearl gouramis, bristlenose pleco, assassin snails, red cherry shrimp, bamboo shrimp
70 gallon growout tank: clown loaches, sailfin pleco
60 gallon goldfish tank: fancy goldfish
29 gallon frog tank / 10 gallon tadpole tank: 1 leopard frog, 1 tadpole
10 gallon and 5.5 gallon betta tanks: 1 male betta each, sometimes snails

^I sort of doubt that just because it wouldn't make much sense to do that. Maybe they had just got one that big and healthy from the pet store, or maybe it was died (probably not, but you never know).

Nah I don't think they would wrestle an oscar into that jail cell just to take a vid. IMO I think they have taken it in from a friend maybe, but not realised the care an animal like this needs. The fish has probably been in the tank a day or so so the small quarters haven't had long enough to start killing it.
