I have the API freshwater master kit, on the regular pH scale it says 7.6, when I test the High pH, it registers about 7.4 some I would assume somewhere in there.
A bad run of fish is right!
I guess I'll keep returning them if they die and wait till I get a strong one.
Currently I've got a yellow guppy and 2 blonde delta guppies which seem to be fine with each other. Now I've got 5 neon tetras and going to replace the one which I got yesterday soon so I'll have a school of 6. I figure I'll wait a bit, like 2 weeks, before I add in 6 more tetras and then another few weeks before the cories. I'm using the drip accumulation method when adding them in and I need to do a water change today.
Is there anything I can do to help ensure I don't have to keep making trips to the store?

Actually I have always had better luck with neons doing a faster acclimation. Open the bag, put some of your tank water in, wait a few minutes and net them out of the bag. When I go fishing I just throw sharp rocks in the water and wait for the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
A moderator on a fish forum should be able to identify an oscar... Don't you think?
Dear naps, sorry I hated you so much when I was a child... Love me

I got 9 of, my 12 neons at Petsmart and I've never had a problem with them. I floated the bag for 15 minutes, netted them out and put them straight in the tank. (Noob acclimation method, I'm not recommending this.) The Petsmart i go to though is literally 3 from my house though, so the water was likely very similar.~Manna
