  1. Question Hello from Clarksville Tn

I have never joined a online forum before so bear with me.

I have inheritated a salt water tank from my son. He got this tank and now his work is on the road so i got the tank. I know absolutely nothing about salt water tanks. I have checked the salinity every day and the Ph both of which appear to be in the recommended range. However my son purchaced a white long tenical anemone. The first day or so it moved alot and was pretty open. This morning it has moved again but appears to be closing up? Does this mean it is sick or dying??

Thanks for any imput.. i can use it!!

A couple questions you'll have to answer to get an accurate answer.

    1. How big is the tank
    2. What kind of lighting?
    3. How old is the tank
    4. Do you do water changes (WC's) if so how often and how much

I know it's a lot of info but it'll help us give you a more accurate answer.

It could be a number of things going on, or just a grumpy anemone.

In addition to Hockeyhead's questions, have you tested your nitrates and phosphates lately ? How long has the anemone been in that tank ?

Sorry for all of the questions between the two of us, but knowing this information can really help us to give some better advice to you. If you could post a picture as well, it sure could help

Also, have you found the below info here yet

If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

The tank is about 6 weeks old. It is a Nano Cube. I think it is 28 gal. I did do a water change (1 gal) yesterday. The salinity of the water was like1.025. It is now back down between 23-24.

6 months is a very new tank in terms of SW, some people say you can't house a nem in a tank that young but I disagree. You do however need very good water quality to maintain a healthy nem.

That said you need to test your nitrates and phosphates since that's most likely what's causing the nem to be stressed
