    Hey guys I put my metal halide fixture on my other 55g tank however the fixture is 7-8" above the water. They are two 150w mh would they be strong enough to reach the bottom of the tank for my polyps ?

    If I had to guess... I would say yes. MH are strong lights. My old tank was a 110h with ~30" high and a 250w bulb and that was way strong for it. I am guess your tank is under 24" tall with a 150w... you should be good.

    Keep an eye on the polyps... if they don't seem as good in the next week move them and see what happens.

    150 watts will be plenty for all softies and lps on the bottom, but it might not be enough for most sps on the bottom, but sps should do great higher up
