  1. Default Chances of survival?

My ghost shrimp had babies tonight and are now somewhere in the gravel. I have other shrimps, 2 cory and the blind tetras love cleaning the gravel also.

What are the chances that they will survive?
    How quickly will they grow?
How soon do they start to swim?

Survival chances aren't good but if there's cover some may make it. Ghosts are tricky to feed since you need infusoria, get enough of those and they should be quite safe in 2 weeks.

I had 2 pregnant ghost shrimp. I put them in my 5 gallon Fluval chi. When they had babies I carefully fed them Hikari first bites.

I had 4 that survived. Then I could only find 3. Then I could only find one. I dont know if the moms ate them or what (it was a test). But eventually I took the moms out and I still had 1 ghost shrimp. I don't know if I overfed (possibly), or if he is alive in the gravel somewhere but I haven't seen him in 4 days and I fear all my babies have died.

I really want to spawn shrimp in my 5 or my 10 gallon tank, but I have no experience yet. Eventually I will get it right. I have heard that raising shrimp fry is a PITA and so far I have found that it is.

4-6 weeks they are like full grown juveniles I have heard. After a week mine were about 1/4"-3/8" and I could easily see them. They still had the floppy swimmer tails but I cant find them anymore.

I have read that ghost shrimp especially are sensitive to the water parameters (the fry more so even), and that the baby fry needs phytoplankton (I think) to survive when it is very small as it cant eat large food. If your tank is well established I think the phytoplankton will be in the water column and they may survive.

But, my tank was very well established and I thought I did everything right, and I cant find my shrimpies. I'm hoping they are in the gravel and just haven't come out yet.
