Hi Lady Hobbs, I kinda new two 30 gal filters would be to small for the long run. To make a long story short. This tank has been stored for awhile. My nephew had it stored in his shed. Both power heads work but wont pump as well as the two hob whisper 20 filters he had. I will either get new impellers for the powerheads and set them up with bio sponges or get a large canister setup later this year. For now I am going to get new impellers for the hob's and get them going as well. I havent had a tank setup in a little over 5 yrs so I am a little rusty so I appreciate all the help I can get from anyone.

A canister filter would be great as well as an AC70 for the opposite end of the tank to take up "dead" spots on that other end. It's always great to keep two running so you can clean one out without losing all the bacteria at once.

Goodmorning everyone. I went down to my local collection area this morning and got a water sample. It tested as follows. PH,7.0 Ammonia,0 Nitrate and Nitrite were also 0. I did a 50% water change on my tank last night and it has clouded up this morning. Water test on the tank is as follows... PH,7.0 ammonia is now 0 but nitrite is 5.0 and nitrate is 10. I replaced my filters last night . I did rinse well and I think I will add more charcoal to the filter bags. I cannot ever rember ever having city water from the tap this hard to balance and adjust for tank water.
