just want to make sure im giving good info....
But would a 40g breeder be too small for a single oscar with a rena xp3 filter? Or possible bouble ac 70s... Just wanted to know in advanced cause tomorrow im giving my mom her 40g tank and shes gona ask if a tiger oscar would fit. I would say no but i know the 40 breeders have a larger foot print than 55s so im unsure

I don't think so. The recommended minimum tank for one oscar is a 75 gallons and I know for some it is 90 gallon. I think a forty gallon is too short.

As Oscar can get up to 14" I would think a 40 gallon breeder would be too small. I know they could still turn around in it, but I just think a single one would need a 4 foot tank to be comfortable.
I have never kept a oscar, that is just based on what I have read and seen from my friend's tank when she kept oscars.If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I totally agree with the above. You could grow him out for a bit in it but as a permanent home it just won't do for the reasons stated.
