Macroalgae tank

I'm setting up a 10 gallon nano atm, which I wanna make as a lower flow macroalgae/nudibranch tank.

Cliff once showed me this picture:



And I'm wondering where i can actually find that kinda microalgae for sale online?

I've never used those sites so I can't say what those companies are like. I have always been able to have our SW LFS order in what ever I had wanted to try. Just be carful of what CUC you have in the same tank as the macro algae. I've had most of mine eaten by snails and tangs in the past when I have tried various different macro algaes. im probably gonna be getting some Fern Caulerpa, i have a 5 gallon tank ive been wanting to set up for something and read that Fern Caulerpa is readily eaten for angles and tangs is great, ive been looking for food for my coral beauty.

Thanks cliff! Yeah, I'm gonna be very careful what sort of inverts I put in!

Currently it's just cycling, so I'm in no big hurry. Those ochtodes look amazing!

Will do. Also, think I'll transfer my mushrooms there once it's cycled. The SPS tank is just too clean for it, I think.

Oh, reminds me, I wanted to ask, does mac algae require a different lighting schedule, or is it basically the same as coral? Currently, I run 8 hours actinic, 6 hours full.

IME, macro algae does best with 6700K lighting and a long photo period, even 18 hours works great. I have found the longer the better for most of the macro algaes.

You have to be careful tho as some macro algae is low light.

For now, I was planing to just use two T-5s.
