Default Laetacara curviceps Dwarf Flag Cichlid

Just purchased a pair of these, with characteristics that I researched and determined to be as close to Male and Female as possible.

The female is slightly larger than the male, with a bit more roundish angles on the Anal/Dorsal fins

The Male is slimmer and smaller in general, and has definite points to the Anal fin, and maybe the Dorsal fin.

I did not see any darker black spots near the dorsal fin of either. The male however, when I added and waited to reappear seemed a bit more colorful, with yellow, blue and red hues. The female seemed drab by comparison.

So far despite the heavily planted tank and dithers, these two seem very skittish and hide at the slightest movement towards the tank.

Aside from what I mentioned above, is there anything anyone whose kept these fish can tell me about them? Would love to hear stories.

Finally caught some pics of the two. Really hope they'll become a mated pair soon.

Hoping as well, they are what I think they are, sex wise.

These two seem to be hanging out more and venturing a bit more, finally. Hoping these two become a mated pair soon. Also, hope my Rams get a successful breeding too soon. These two groups have met up a few time, though no fights, just a short stare and the Flags swim off. Guess the Rams looks tougher to them.

    P.S. 2000th POST!!!!!

Now they're coloring up a bit.

Where ya get your fish at? I keep thinking if I get down your way, I'll have to give you a yell.

Ever shop at Preuss? Heard it's great but long drive for me.

Nice choice of fish, I've always liked the look of those fish.

Preuss is my LFS, I like it, each section has it's own knowledgeable employees (even FW and SW have different employees) and although this doesn't matter to me that much because my research is usually done when I come in, it is nice for people with little knowledge on fish or when I can name a fish i want (even if it's fairly rare) and at least some employees will know what I am talking about

Haven't heard of them. I got these two at Cutlerville V.I. Pets.
But I did do a search, might have to go check them out, if I can ever get over to Lansing.

Makes me wonder if I got the sexes backwards. Seems it's opposite of my Rams, personality wise. The female seems the alpha.

    For those wondering:

Feel free to give me a hollar, just hope it's while I'm awake.
