Prime
Ok dumb question...Do you add Prime to the tank after the water change or before the water change?

You drain however much water you would like to change from your tank, then add the prime to the tank before refilling, or add it to each individual buckets of water, depending on what your method is.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark

After draining out the tank water THEN you add the prime before adding the chlorinated makeup water.

If your using a python water changer (like I do) just add enough prime to treat the tank then fill up the tank
When I used buckets to re-fill my tanks, I would treat the water in the bucket (with just enough to treat the water in the bucket) and then pore the water into the tank.If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

When I use my python after I drain the tank I put enough prime in to treat the whole tank, and then fill it back up. When I do the bucket method (on my smaller tanks) I add prime to each bucket. It acts instantly.
Lots of tanks. Some tanks are planted. Fish include community and bettas.
