Keeping less fish for 2 weeks w/o w/c
So, I am leaving for 2 weeks through mid-late june.
Assuming my aquarium doesn't decide to take 6 weeks to cycle, can I leave 15-20 Harlequin rasboras in a cycled 166g with a Fluval Fx5 for 2 weeks without a w/c? Assume 0 nitrates from the beginning of the 2 weeks. Its Phillip, not Origami.

If the tank is cycled, and you do a large water change just before (and when when you get back) you should be OK provided no one over feeds the fish during this period of time
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Pffft... I love what we do to people.
Listen you can leave 20 Harlequins in a 166 gallon tank with a Fluval Fx5 Can for probably six months without a water change. I wouldn't recommend it, but I bet the fish live. 2 weeks is my normal interval for water changes. I had to leave for a full month and when I got home my tanks where all 0-0-5 across the board, canisters make all the difference. Relax, don't let people overfeed and you'll be fine.

Guppy Grass is awesome as sucking up nitrate. Get some if your worried about too much nitrate building up. You should be perfectly fine though.

You guys screw with my mind.
Lol, thanks!
I thought that the Harlequins would not provide enough amm for the large amount of bacteria to nom on, and some would starve. Nice to know though! Its Phillip, not Origami.

As long as there is ammonia coming...all is well with the bacteria - the ammonia does not think to itself - hmmmm which bacteria should I feed today?? I don't like the guys on the left side of the filter so I'll skip feeding them for the next week! LOL
