cycled tank but still having problems?
right so as mentioned in some of my earlier threads i have lost a few fish in the first month since my tank has been cycled...
4 swordtails in the first 2weeks..now after adding 4 platys one died this morning and one is on the way out :(
i have noticed it has like a fluffy white film on its fins and a lil white spot on its eye?
what i am confused about is 2 of my swordtails i first brought are doing fine??
the fish that died was fine yesterday?

If you get poor quality fish their immune system isn't upto scratch. What you describe sounds like fungus, that will hurt the poorer fish and can eventually kill.

Over feeding and not getting all the food out of the substarte (esp. gravel) can be a hot bed for fungus and cause the fish issues. There are fungus treatments but good tank cleaning and going easy on food will go a long way (not that that is the issue but this is something to consider.)

In addition, it is also really important to check new fish carefully in the store before purchasing - sometimes you might notice other fish (that you aren't interested in) with funny stuff on them - red flag to avoid all the fish in that tank.

Have you checked your water parameters lately ?
Could something be off ?If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

They were all swimming normally, eating normally? They all looked healthy when you brought them home?
