When did you add them? It maybe normal if you just put them in recently.

I have 4 platys in my quarantine tank - they are either hiding under my box filter or acting "freaked out" - if you just put the danios in there, that's possible - they are very fast swimmers and need to learn the tank boundaries - JMO.

5 gal QT with green corys & 2 guppies

They have been in the tank for 6 days, it's a 17 gallon tank, maybe they are getting restless, just worried about adding them to my community tank if there was something wrong with them and wanted another opinion.

Danios are very active fish, I would that when I had them in my 30g they NEVER settled down, they were always burning around the tank chasing each other.
Just to be sure, are you getting dive-bombing confused with flashing?

Are they rubbing on the substrate? or just having zippy moments and then settling down?
If they are rubbing, that's generally a sign of itching that is external parasite related.
If its just that they are having zippy moments like they are startled then its probably normal since 6 days in QT is not the most settling environs.
-- As a side note FYI, Leopard Danios are just a color variant of Zebra Danios

+1 to Trill, Give them some time.
Just curious: What is the rationale behind having substrate in your QT tank?

You have a point about the substrate, I put some sand in which I now realise is daft, thanks for waking me up 850R. They do it for a little while then stop.
