I tried a betta in community once. I had him with a gourami and all the other fish, and he was fine with all of them for almost 2 months. Then one night i noticed a dead danio stuck in a plant. Pulled it out and it was beat to death. Noticed betta chasing another one, and hurried to separate them. This danio was missing an eye, and also had lots of other injuries. Never attacked gourami surprisingly, but he never got to live with other fish again. He had also attacked several mollies on his rampage. All in one night, all out of nowhere. Never tried it again. I hope you have better luck than i did! IME though bettas and cories work, so i think you should be good there.

So far mine's only flared at some Pea dropped into the tank. He ripped into it like a juicy steak being offered to a starving man. The H. Rasboras have been schooling about the tank. Snatching food every now and again. So far, 0 tailgating from the Betta. My wife says he's just building up his strength and muscle tone, from being kept in a jar too long.
Hope she's wrong, cause so far he swims as fast as a snail walks.Forum Rules_Pest Snail Eradication_The Fishless Cycle, By Lady Hobbs_Cycling With Fish, By Lady Hobbs_Homemade Hospital Tank_Fish 911

^_^ My female bettas go after peas like piranhas in a feeding frenzy, while all the boys are more on the fence about the mysterious green stuff. And bettas can haul tailfin when they want; I have several who become finny torpedoes, especially when they see the camera coming

Oh, so maybe the wife IS right. That he's just getting accustomed to water flows and building up strength. Can't wait to see him haul fin

I wouldn't get too mopeful, mine is the laziest thing I've ever seen, and I've had him for about a year. I had to get other fish so that the tank didn't look empty

My betta is a total drag queen. He likes to lounge on the anubias or on the top of the heater, munching bon-bons.
He has a strange relationship with the tape dispenser that I put in front every once in a while. I call it his girlfriend..

I have lazy bettas, and I have active bettas. Rainbow is always prancing around his tank, while Midnight sleeps on a plant half the time. It depends on the betta
