How do my DiY plants look?

This is a new tank. My g/f and i made all the plants in the tank, just curious what you all thought. I welcome any tips, suggestions, and or websites with more diy plant info. Thanks

Thanks a lot. It works out to less than $1 per plant, rather than 10+ at the LFS. We are going to do a pvc cave soon i think too.

Well i must thank my g/f for this one. Shes the artistic one, and I've been a mechanic and had very mechanical based jobs. So I'm more of a builder and shes the artist lol.

We took small wooden bases from the craft store, said they were hard wood. After boiling the bases to clean them from harmful chemicals, i took a small 1/8 drill bit and drilled 8-15 holes per base. The bases are about 3x3 roughly. We bought tons of fake plants and flowers from the same store. We cut the leaves off the main stem of the plant and discarded that. Then all we had to do was stick the smaller stems we cut through the holes and then hot glue them on the bottom. Wash/soak them very well. Then just bury the bases in the substrate. She used up to 3 or 4 different plants per 1 that we made, for a color contrast. Might not be the best way, but seems to be holding up very well, and dirt cheap to make. Im not opposed to buying them from the LFS, but its much more rewarding IMO to make them ourselves, and gives us something fun to do together.
