I have 72, 3 watt cree LEDs on my 120 gallon (4' Tank). Its not DIY tho, just 3 unit of AI SOL LEDs
I'm also not running them at 100%, around 45% on the white and some where around 75% on the royal blue and blue (not 100% if that is correct tho, but close). So far the anemone and corals are lov'n it

Cliff, off topic but you think the corals like the royal blue light more than the white? I want to say the royal blue is more for growth than the white but not positive.
I am thinking ~24 LED's that are dimmable and make it a modular style setup so I can add or take off LED's.
