Thread: First Floater

    Looks like my java fern just gave up a leaf. I found it stuck to the filter intake (C4 HOB). Cool thing is that there are a couple of little green leaves with brown/red roots attached to the rotten leaf. I wonder if it would have successfully rooted to the filter intake grating. Lotsa flowing water there. I'll see about posting a pic.

    yea itll root mine do that pretty often. be careful though if you let a few get stuck it can greatly reduce water flow

    A couple closeups. I turned the filter off so there wouldn't be much agitation in the tank so the pics would be a bit sharper. Lots of stray reflection bouncing off of the glass to compete with.

    Pics taken with an old Pentax k100d through a sigma apo on macro ~ 200-300mm.
