From the attached photo you can see the coloring is the same. But the markings are different as well as the obvious size difference.

Are these two different types of Pangio Kuhli Loaches?
Or one younger and the other older?
    Or male and female?

I have three of the smaller and two of the larger and curious about why the differences. Had assumed they were just different due to age/maturity, but.....

This link what raised my curiosity:

    Thanks.

They are both types of kuhli loaches, the one in the back might be a pangio kuhli:

    Or a pangio acathopthalmus kuhli:

It's hard to say without a better picture.

The one in the front appears to be a pangio myersi

Either way they are both kuhli's and will get along and hang out together. I had 19 kuhli's of three different types in one of my tanks and they all got along well and hung out together.
When I go fishing I just place a sharp rock in the water and sit there waiting for all the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

    Thanks!

That's what I thought. Based on my research....seems different Kuhlies. They get along fine together....but wondered if the fat, bigger ones were females and might, by complete accident, chance a family would get started someday. Not likely....but anyway.....

I couldn't agree more! I love the little guys! Their character is hilarious! Their faces are hilarious! I could be happy just keeping pangio loaches and forget the rest of the beautiful fish!
