Where Do you shop for aquarium stuff?
so i was having an issue with my aquarium, someone recommended trying some melafix and primafix. so i went to my local LFS and noticed the prices there are OUTRAGEOUS! the 4oz bottles were 10$ each, ive seen them online for EASILY 1/2 that price. SO im just curious where everyone else buys their fish and aquarium products. my LFS since there isint much around other than like petco / petsmart, i guess jacks the prices up sky high. any suggestions?

this place is great. free shipping on orders over 49 bucks and their prices are great! also you can find some great deals on amazon too.Link to my Journal: patinthehat's 50g journey

You can also try PETCO or petsmart. Probably cheaper than your LFS.

There is one local family owned store in the city that I live in which get about 75% of my businesses. I like trying to support small business when ever I can
The rest he doesn't carry so I will order that on-line from a few different companies depending one who has the best priceIf you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

yeah i want to support my lfs but when things are 2 and sometimes 3 times the price, i would just soon buy it online and save money. if the prices are close, i normally buy it from the lfs

I support my LFS too, cannot see past them, even if its a little more expensive I'd rather keep them open so I can go buy fish there.
If something is massively different in price I ask, quite often they match, or reduce the price ;)Used to try and keep track of my fish here.....

yeah i do most of my biz and shopping there, however, paying 10$ for what i see online for 3-4$ is way to pricey for me. the 4oz one there is more then the 16oz ones i see online.

look for DIY melafix. I forget if it's melafix or pimafix, but one of them can be made at home with tea tree oil.
I agree, Dr.Fosters&Smith is a great place to buy from.
