My kitten chirps?
I just got a new kitten, eleven months old. She'll come up to me and make a short, high pitched chirping sound before running away. So I'm wondering - is she insane?

Probably playing, sounds like. When my cats were young, one or two would do that, run up to me, make a noise, then speed off in the other direction. Just young cats being goofy.

I got a cat last year that makes noises just like a raccoon does,chirps,chortles,trilling you name it. He still does it and the new cat we got a few months ago picked up on it,its all just little communications and your cat wants to interact with you and btw,yes she is crazy they all are.

Kittens playing are a ton of fun. Make sure you get her plenty of toys!
8 tanks running now:
1x 220 gallon, 2x55 gallon, 1x40 gallon long, 1x29 gallon, 1x20 gallon long, 1x5.5 gallon, 1x2 gallon
Gouramis, barbs, rasboras, plecos, corys, tetras, fancy guppies, swordtails, ottos, rainbow shark, upside-down catfish, snails, and Max and Sparkles the bettas.

Yup...I have a 'talker' too...she has an amazing range of sounds...

Our eighteen month kitty makes a chittering noise when he sees birds. It's so cute!!!
I hate hearing people say "it's only a $3/$5/$1 fish/shrimp, so it's ok if it dies, I can just get another." It's still an animal! All animals should be treated like they're worth $10,000.
