Guppies / Shrimp compatible?

are guppies and shrimp compatible. even more so, will they pick on the shrimp babies if they reproduce? and if im looking to get a really good growing community of shrimp going, what are the easiest to care for / breed. they wont be in a specialized "shrimp only tank" but i would be willing to make some minor changes to my tank to be able to make them comfy.

They may nibble on the tiniest ones but shrimp reproduce so fast you'll never notice. They are also very fast. Just provide them with hiding areas. I have shrimp with rainbowfish, angels, tetra's, etc.

My guppies usually hang out on the top of the tank so I can't imagine they'd pay much attention to shrimp.

Guppies hunt in the first 3-4 inches of water. IF there's enough food there they're not likely to venture deeper.

Combine that with plants and hiding places for the shrimps and at least some of each clutch will grow big enough to survive.

Well, if you end up with shrimp, you just might have an exp like mine. When I had to tweezer an Antannea out of the mouth of a netted Guppy. My guppies tend to swarm any where and everywhere in my tank.
