Snail Infestation!
First of all, hi.
Second, yeah yeah yeah, I know
this has been asked about a lot on this forum, but I feel i'm in a unique predicament.
So, my problem is that I seem to have an infestation of MTS in my tank. And I can tell those of you who have never had them before, it sucks. I have been going around asking how to get rid of them in a tank with Cherry Shrimp in it. I was told to use clown loaches, but they would eat the shrimp. I was told to use Snail-X but again, that too would harm the shrimp. I also tried to find some assassin snails, but they seem to be out of stock or discontinued everywhere (local breeders and lfs).
Stock of aquarium is as follows: 8 guppies, 10 sword fish, 5 platties, 6 neon tetras, 2 bosemani rainbows, 1 sunset gourami, 15 or so cherry shrimp, a few amazon swords, java moss and a bit of star grass.
If anyone has any suggestion on how I could get rid of or at least control this outbreak, it would be well appreciated.90 Gallon FW Community Tank: http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aqua...ad.php?t=89157

Try a snail trap. This was posted to one of my threads earlier.

You can try No Planaria:

Don't know if it works on MTS, but it knocked out all my pond snails.

Buy Assassin snails. I was over run with pond snails and I hate them with a passion. Assassins eliminated them until I had NONE, ZERO, NATTA!
Just as I was rejoying over having no snails, I bought a plant that had Trumpets. And now am over run with them! *sighCycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

OP did mention that assassin snails were hard to find locally. Maybe they can be ordered online?

I'm starting to have second thoughts on my judgement of which type of snail I actually have, so here are some terrible pictures that might help.
