Honey vs Dwarf
Hi everyone. Can someone please tell me the difference of a Red Dwarf and a Honey Gourami?
Looking at PetSmart's "Honey Sunset Gourami" and researching led me into the confusion of which is which. I want the true honey and not the dwarf.Da name's Paul. Not Dave. ROFL

True Honey Gouramis (Trichogaster/Colisa chuna) are paler in color and don't quite have as round of a body shape as dwarf gouramis. They also are more peaceful and I've been told (though I've never personally kept them) that you can add multiple males in one tank and be just fine.
Dwarf gouramis (Colisa lalia) comes in many color varieties (powder, blue, neon, sunset, flame, etc.) but are considered more aggressive than honeys. You shouldn't have more than one male per tank, and at least two females per male (they can be difficult to find, however, as females are dull and just aren't available for sale in most LFS)."The Dumpster Tank" 26g flat back hex - Betta albimarginata, corydoras, checker barbs, pork chop rasbora
"Nano Fish Tank" 20g long - Celestial Pearl Danios, microrasboras, Corydoras habrosus
"Mbuna Tank" 75g - Ps. saulosi, I. sprengerae, M. pulpican, M. joanjohnsonae
"Time Out Tank" 29g - dominant male Cynotilapia sp. "hara"

Is there more difference in appearance than paler color? Most fish in petsmart have paler color than they should have.

From what I've seen in dwarfs the female is noticebly duller and almost silver, when next to a male it is very easy to identify the sexes. Even when in stressed conditions in a lfs
My therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .
