Air pump????

hello there, new to the forum but i just finished up with setting up my 40 gallon.......now i've had tanks in the past but i wanted to have bubbles and what not in the tank, makes it look nicer but the dang pump is too loud even though it says its silent.... anything i can do or thats just how it is?

You'll hafto have it hanging in the air where nothing is touching it. I think theres an article on this site or online about takeing a empty jar putting a hole in the top and haveing the pump dangle inside the bottle or what not without touching anything.
Mine has a tube thats short to the point where i just let it hang off the side.
