Thread: 75gal Dream Tank Starting!

Panic the Pleco is very friendly. He took an algae wafer right out of my hand yesterday, and he doesnt run away if i pic up the thing hes under to show him to people. He even comes out of his little log i gave him to play with the little molly/platy mixes that own the QT. Today i will give him a potato.
Sunday i added the new mollies and yesterday the two Leopard Nerite Snails to the 75 gal. The snails are very happy with all the algae on the East Wall where my window is. Its not a wall that we look through so i always let the algae grow on it for snails and plecos and mollies to snack on between meals.
The female mollies dont seem thrilled about their move from the all female QT to the male infested main tank, but they will get over it. Both fish were the only females in the tanks i got them from in store, so they shouldnt be complaining! Lol. Currently 4:4 in there with 2 more females coming next month from QT when they are just a little bit bigger. They are only like 1/8" smaller than the smallest molly in large tank big enough to not get eaten. Then the 6:4 f:m ratio just has to wait until the tetras are all gone and will be bumped up another 2 to a 8:4 ratio where everybody can be happy. :)

0Well, it looks like my final tank stock is able to be made now. I cleaned the filter and apparently cleaned it too well, because even though i wasnt registering any ammonia the tank got cloudy for two days and i lost all of the tetras and most of the male mollies. I now have just Chase with 6 females. Hes one happy fishy. I lost i dont even know how many loaches, i found one dead and ive seen none come out recently. They are all good now, i really wish i knew what happened. But good news is that i can now lower my temp to 73 degrees without any fish being upset and i can start my final stock as follows:
One of those goldies is actually a shubunkin not a comet, but shubunkins dont exist on Aqadvisor to play with. Cories will school with different ones, right? They are all same adult size and price at my pet store and im bored with all the same kind.

Just a idea, if you are still having problems with fish dying I'd stop adding fish until you're able to figure it out. Make a separate thread and let us help you.20 gallon tall: empty
29 gallon: moderately planted with 9 bloodfin tetra, 1 german blue ram, 11 glow light tetra and 1 BNP
10 gallon QT: empty

Well yea i havent added any fish, im just starting my final planning and making sure what i want is normally stocked in my stores. And i finally figured it out now, apparently my grandma decided that my special "Do Not Touch" sponge was dirty and so she put some dish soap on it and cleaned it the day before i cleaned filter, so when i cleaned the filter i put the soap residue from sponge all over everything in the filter and pumped it all back into tank when i reassembled it and ran it! Im glad it didnt appear to effect the bacteria on my biomedia, but it did murder all those fish. Several small waterchanges and my usual 25% one on sunday later they all stopped dying and Sid (my upside down catfish which wasnt doing good during those few days this happened) is now back to playing upside down in his house instead of laying on bottom right side up and not moving as of yesterday. :)
EDIT: The way i found out about this soap is i caught her cleaning it again last night and she told me "i did it the other week too and you didnt say anything then". This time i threw it out and told her if i saw her do it last week maybe her beloved tetras wouldnt have died. Now i know to store it away in my stand with other things so she wont touch it.

You may have heard this before but Coldfish are not realy considered "tropical fish" and carry their own disease's that have to be treated seperatly .
