Pink Tilapia eats asparagus
So my tilapia is a total pig. I frequently give him lettuce to eat, but was making asparagus last night and decided to give him some. I quick blanched a couple end pieces I usually just throw away. They were about 2 inches long. I toss them in and he instantly swallows one of the pieces whole. I'm like oh no please don't choke. I watch him swim around for 10-20 seconds chewing on it. Then he spits it out and it's only an inch long. He finished that piece off that night, the other piece he ate the next day.

Thats why they are introduced around the world.Great food source for most countries populations ,due to the fast breeding, growth rate ,and the tilapia will eat all the thick vegetation from a pond.Is it's lips getting large and rubbery at all?

His lips are good sized but looks the same as other pics I've seen.
He will gobble up as much food as he can and then take 1 more pellet and swim around with it in his lips until he's ready to eat it. Kind of like his little cigarette.
I haven't ate Tilapia since I found out what kind of fish I had. He looks exactly like the kind they farm. I don't know how he ended up at petco but my wife wanted him and he was only a dollar. Luckily I have a big tank to keep him in.
