My crypts have started sending their leaves straight out of the water. Anyone knows why this happens?

Perhaps the light is too bright for cyrpts and they've growing too fast upward instead of bushing out? Not that I know much for sure about plants but I read that swords do that. Less light and they remain more compact and bushy. Higher light and then grow too up upward and not bush out.

Not so sure, but I believe crypts are found naturally is swampy marsh areas where the water level is low and they can grow out of the water, somewhat similar to amazon sword plants.

Sorry hobbs, but I think if they had too much light they would just get covered in algae, since they are slow growers.
CORRECTED video of my fish. This link works. For sure. Really.

    Tanks:
20g long: 4 panda cories, 1 honey gourami, 1 apistogramma borellii, 1 male cacatuoides
    20g High: 3 bolivian rams, 12 rasboras
    8g hex: empty
    5g: empty

I have zero experience with crypts, but usually, when plants start growing up only, it means they want/need more light. When they grow bushy/sideways, it means they have enough light.

Wooohooo that means my plants have a acceptable amount of light.
They are all growing out and full but now I am running into some brown spots.

They have plenty light. I got 43 Watts on a 15 gal.
Hobbs got me thinking. The thing is they were bushing out when they were shaded by some of my other plants and they started growing straight out the water when i started trimming the other plants regularly. Their leaves are also a lot smaller. I know that crypts can grow half in the water and half out I was just wondering what triggers them to do this.

I know with house plants when they get tall and leggy they need a pruning back to bush out more. Some cryts do well in bright tanks and others prefer less.

I do know that don't like to be moved once planted or they will get set back. Not a good plant for me to have, obviously, since I'm always tearing things apart.
