Tuberculosis Treatments
Okay, I know you guys are getting tired of me talking about TB, but I'd like some things cleared up. I've read so many complex scientific papers tonight that I'm surprised my brain hasn't exploded. I even got into genes, DNA sequences, and other boringly complicated things. According to the scientific papers, M. marinum, although resistent to several types of drugs, is treatable with sulfonamides, tetracyclines, rifampin, and ethambutol. Is this true? I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

Despite popular belief, only a rare strain of M. marinum can infect humans.

And do you know without a doubt what your tank is infected with? Are you willing to chance it?
You received unanimous advice on what to do in these two threads.

Danio...possible TB
Hi there, Im probably in the wrong place but as your talking about treatments, you may be able to spot TB. I m concerned about my zebra Danio...and the other fish i have left. I hd an outbreak of what i was told was NTD and I lost 3 neons and 3 glowlights. Having been doing more and more research it think they may have had fishTB. One of my zebra danios is sick and Im worried bout the outbreak of TB. If it is and I have to treat it, i don't want to kill my two ghost shrimp.
In my tank currently i have 3 ottos, 2 ghost shrimp, 5 zebra Danios, 1 glowlight and 2 neons. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. The danio who i suspect has TB has TB curvature in the spine just behind the head curving upwards. her stomach is becoming really bloated and she is saying still in a corner of the tank now. little while ago she looked like she had a cut on her side just behind her gills.
Many thanks!

Lucy you should probably make your own thread instead of resurrecting this old one.
Generally speaking though There isn't a cure for Fish TB, and since its transferable to people, you sincerely need to evaluate if your less than $2 fish is worth putting your health in jeopardy to manage the disease.
