is this a GBR?
0
hello,
This is my first post, although i have been lurking for a while.
Im a little worried about one of my fish, which I bought believing was a GBR, but Im starting to wonder if he really is? or if hes distrested in any way?
hes very grey with stipes on.
He has started to colour up a bit since being in the tank, about 10 days now, and ive noticed that the black spot has started to show up, so im hoping hes a jouvinile and will continue to develope his colours.
Can any one confirm this?
thankyou for reading

thankyou for responding.
To answer your questions, the tank is 100L (25g approx), and the tank mates are a pair of dwarf gouramis, 6 guppys and a pair of killifish.
Its planted, and all readings of nitrite/nitrate amonia are fine.
im feeding them a mixture of flakes, frozen worm and a colour enhancer by tetra (cant remeber its exact name)

Its a GBR, when they are younger they arent as colorful yet.

Agreed with Wild Turkey, looks like a young one that hasn't yet colored up.
EDIT: Tetra foods aren't usually considered to be very good by most fish keepers. Hikari and New Life Spectrum are more considered top choices by most of us.
8 tanks running now:
1x 220 gallon, 2x55 gallon, 1x40 gallon long, 1x29 gallon, 1x20 gallon long, 1x5.5 gallon, 1x2 gallon
Gouramis, barbs, rasboras, plecos, corys, tetras, fancy guppies, swordtails, ottos, rainbow shark, upside-down catfish, snails, and Max and Sparkles the bettas.

thankyou for having a look, I guess it will take time to see the colours.
he seems happy enough
Thanks for the info on the food as well. I will change the brands over to the ones suggested.
the only other question I had with GBRs was weather it would be happiest alone or in a pair ( once i figure out weather hes a he or she!)
thanks again
