Well I got this tank for a quite a deal and set it up on a fishless cycle. Now after seeing Tankedagain's DIY 3D background I wanted to do something like it. I looked at several videos online on making 3D backgrounds and the only thing keeping me from doing it was the tank had water in it. Recently found the ammonia I was using was not good to use, so there was my green light to drain the tank. Now I plan to do more than just the what I'm going to call a semi or part 3D background, but its where I am starting. I will try to make this vary picture heavy, however any indoor pics have to be taken with my phone and sent to my e-mail (vary costly) Anyway here we go with the pics.

Marking off where the heater and filter tubes go.

My pit (Casanova) insisting I need his help

I ran out of silicone before I could put the top 4 or so peaces on. I am happy with the way it is coming out, but I'm glad the top few didn't get glued because now I want to change them. These are mostly just to hide the heater and tubes and plan to use up the entire background, just not with only the 3D stuff. Who knew there was so much you could do to your tank (just found out I can only post 4 pics at a time lol)

Ready to carve down and get them ready for grout

Decided to make the left side short but still cover the cut up sponge thats on the end of my filter tubes.

The bottom half of the right peace is hallow to make a cave.

Then I got feeling that I had to make sure dyslexia didn't %$#@ me and I got the aquarium safe Silicone. Hop online and do a quick search and find out GE I is safe and not GE II. I knew one was and one was not, what I didn't know was silicons with mold inhibitors are not safe. (would of helped)

Well crap, all that for nothing. Guess I'll ditch the home made decor tell I have a bigger tank with more room. However the plans may of been altered a bit but I am still trying for a one of a kind tank...
