Hats in the ring
So I have tossed my hat into the ring of the world of Reefers', no, not the Kronic, the expensive one!
I am starting with some lowish light requirement Corals as I am at 3W per gallon in my 24 Cube. I have added 3 to start, Umbrella & Finger leathers and a Star Polyp. This is the tank with my banded pipefish. For maintenance I have a sifting star, 2 conchs, 5 red leg hermits and a black feathered brittle star as well as a bunch of snails. I will be adding peppermint and candy cane shrimp to the mix next week when one of my local LFS gets them in ($24 for 1 candy cane, sheesh!) Heres a quick picture I took...

They opened up an hour after being placed in the tank.
One thing I just dont understand. Frags are $14 to $25, yet the ones in the photo (2 pieces) were $49 each. Why buy frags??? I expect growth is agonisingly slow! Ohh well, I'm sure one of you will explain why

You will be surprised at how fast some corals can grow.
Green Star Polyps can grow like weeds
Have you thought about trying some zoas ?If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Definitely try some zoas, they're pretty indestructible too lol
The leather looks great!! And yea watch out for those star polyps haha they explode! (in a good way)
Congrats on joining us haha the corals will become like crack soon ;)55g Long --> After 18mo of doing well the tank crashed during moving. Most likely cause: Flatworm Die-off... won't start another until after moving... Likely not until late 2013
Check out the journal to follow my 55g SW tank
