new 60 gallon tank (video)
After taking about two years off keeping fish (during that time I've kept tree frogs and turtles), I finally bought a new tank and got back into the game!
Before taking the break, I was breeding angel fish, but after having a large going away party for a friend, someone had busted into my room, and dumped alcohol into my aquarium, killing both of my angel pairs. Needless to say, I wasn't ready to start from scratch after that.
Currently, my tank is just finishing cycling. I moved the two baby angels, and the tiger barb I had in with my baby red ear slider. Surprising, the turtle was amazingly tame around the fish, and the barb never bothered or nipped at the angels - I lucked out, aha.
Anyways, I'm currently working towards planting my tank, and then after everything has established, I'll be moving the current fish out, and tackling discus (my favourite fish since I started this hobby). I realize I'm jumping into the deep end - a planted discus tank, with juvies (3inch). Mind you, I'm not terribly concerned with the discus being slightly stunted, so I won't be feeding them mass amounts, and therefore won't be damaging the water quality as much as it otherwise would.
Alas, I'll keep everyone updated as things come along, but here's the tank as is!
