ACF doomed?
0
I am away at college and my mother takes care of my african clawed frog. She turned 14 this winter. When she was being fed my cat jumped up on the lid and it snapped, dropping a piece of plastic into the tank which my frog quickly consumed thinking it was food. It happened quickly so we are unsure of how big the piece was...any chance she will survive?

Not doomed, give her some treats (regular food) in with some fiber regularly for the next few-how-often-she-will-eat it and she might pass it.
Give the cat some catnip toys elsewhere and tell her to lovingly bugger off during frog feeding time from here on out!
The intestines are remarkably forgiving, especially the lower GI. Frogs guts are also particularly amazing.
What's her name'?

ok I will make sure she eats, what do you consider fiber for her?
Yes I will tell my cat that! she is a sweetheart but such a terror! I think feeding time will be done with the door closed now...
she actually does not have an official name..sad right? I do often refer to her as froggles though.

Try algae wafers if she'll eat them. Froggles is cute!

Aww...good luck. I hope she pulls out of it.
When I was a little kid I wanted to be a frog doctor, until my mom told me frogs don't need doctors.
She was wrong! Too bad more vets don't see aquarium critters...you can find one occasionally, might be worth a try! Some vets I've known that see exotic pets dabble in fishy frog types, it isn't in their training but they care and might have some thoughts/experience!
