New Nano Cube D&D or Red Sea
Hi there
I am thinking of setting up my 1st Marine Nano Cube.
I have looked at my local marine shop and they have 2 options which would suite.
1 D&D Cf 28 gallon £399
2 Red Sea Max 130D £699
Theres not much difference in volume between the 2 the red sea is slightly larger.
I would like to keep a good carried selection of corals and just 3 or 4 fish.
I have read that all nano tubes need modding what kind of mods would you need to carry out
at the moment i am edging toward the Red Sea as its neater with the cables and comes with skimmer
can you fit a skimmer to the D&D
in my local shop they have lights on the back of the tank 24\7 growing algae in a compartment. that have advised me that this eliminates the need for a skimmer
Id rather work out which is going to suit me better and get some impartial advice than just jump in
any help appreciated

Have you looked into a more traditional set-up with tank in stead of a all in one system ?
It might be a better way to look at the situation and give you another option to think about. There's a lot of pros and cons for both
I personally do not like the all in one set-ups as you can not ugrade any of the equipment and replacement part can be hard to get sometimes.
But that is just my $0.02If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

There is a local fellow here that has a really nice looking bio-cube. He liked the size for the room he was putting it in, and the look of it as a display tank. Very clean and compact.
He did find a mini skimmer that fit in the back somewhere, plus he had to upgrade the lighting to grow the corals he wanted. He also added nano-powerheads, which isn't really a mod, I guess. I'm not sure if he has a fuge in the back or not, tho, or what other mods he did.
