Sick cory

Something is strange is going on with my emerald cory. She has become nonactive, slow, has lost some of her color, and strangest of all, it looks like she has some "hair" growing on her sides. Of all the years, I have never encountered this before with any of my corys. Does anybody know what it is?

That is a water quality problem. What is your maintenance schedule? Any additions or subtractions in the tank?

It would be very helpful to see a detailed photo of the fish for an accurate diagnosis. But, any treatment must be done in a container of tank water, never in your main tank, since meds can give you more problems than you started with, using them in a main tank.

I have no clue how to put pictures on here, the copy/paste method is not working, but my schedule is a 15% water change about once every 9 or 10 days. And there was a new addition to the tank, a dwarf Gouramis.

Did a re-read of your original post. What other fish are in your tank and what size is it?

You should change the frequency of your 15 percent partial changes to once a week.

A 20 gallon tank, and it is an all cory tank, with a Gourami, and 3 ghost shrimp, and her condition has gotten worse, she is now leaning on her side.

Sorry about your cory. Most of the time once they start leaning or spinning... it's hard to bring them back. :(

What kind of gourami do you have?
