Wildcaught vs tankraised?
I was thinking...pro/con wildcought vs. tankraised. I'm getting a 75 g. tank. I love the colors/happenings of wildcought, don't care expense...but I felt such beautyful fish aught to stay where they are. Question: what are pros. vs. con on wildcaught (Malawi) Please input for dilemma...

It just depends on how much $$ you have to spend on stock. Wild-caught are usually mature adults and ready to breed, but cost much more because the seller has to import them. Some people say their colors are better, but it's not a big difference. Tankraised are much less expensive, take longer to grow out/mature, but usually no worries about parasites or other issues.

i favor tank raised over wildcaught, generally better acclimation. no real reason to pressure native stocks.

wildcaught fish will usually come with some sort of parasite and MUST be quarantined moreso than any other fish. they are also less tolerant of different water conditions, and sometimes will not accept prepared foods.
