Stocking a 135g
I have a 135 gallon with two small clown loaches and a very small chinese algae eater. There is also a Betta in there but it could be moved. I want to have a main attraction fish. Maybe a school of a certain kind, i dont know. Any suggestions?

Barbs would be pretty if you take out the betta. I love my angels!!! You could have some larger fish like American cichlids. Some examples are severums, uaru, jack, and oscar. You would have to remove the Chinese algae eater probably if you add a jack or oscar but the clown loaches would be fine if they get quite a bit larger than the oscar before putting the oscar in.

What kind of filtration/waterchange schedule can you provide?

Depends on if you like the small and colorful or large and impressive. For the former, a school of 144 neon or cardinal tetras, with a dozen or two of corydoras cats, perhaps four or five dozen marbled hatchetfish, and a small group of smaller cichlids, like rams, kribs or apistogrammas. The latter, larger passive cichlids like the spilotum, larger characins like lemon tetras up to silver dollars, and perhaps a group of synodontis catfish.

For something different, I'd go with a nice Lake Tanganyika set-up. But if you want schools of fish, I'd go with lot's of cardinals and some Discus, even though they are expensive and senstive.

You could do like a school or 50 white clouds and a dozen corys's. That would be beautiful.

Or plant the blazes out of that tank and add rainbow fish. Love the rainbows!
